Britain packs more dialect variation into one island than almost anywhere in the English-speaking world, and most of it sits in decades-old atlases. This one is live — and it gets redrawn by everyone who plays.

• Every map is live. Hover over any city to see the word it actually uses — and the whole country is mapped, not just the cities.
• Nothing is invented. Every map starts from published research or a large-scale survey.
• It sharpens as you play. With consent, your answers are added to that data and refine the maps over time. Everything is stored anonymously and used solely to study regional language variation.
